This morning, we get all our things together, then Isar falls down in a hole full of newly spread fertilizer. They're actually spreading fertilizer all over the area, this seems to be THE week of the year when they do it in this area. The smell is all over. Isar is not happy to be stripped and cleaned outside this cold morning. I'm happy we're heading for Cologne and a washing machine this evening...
We're being picked up by the daughters von Laer, Felicitas and Pauline and head off for breakfast. It's been cold this night as well, although we're not cold in the tent. It's just getting out of the tent, getting the kids dressed in the mornings, that is a hassel when it's cold. We end up in their warm home, to a set breakfast table with lots of coffee and everything else. We have such a great meeting, such a great breakfast, that it's unbeliavable! We're just so excited to get another great experience of Germany and generous people. The girls play with the kids, and Isar finds a corner with old toys upstairs which he loves. He does NOT want to leave.
Before we leave, we ask for a really German restaurant, and end up at Jagdhaus in Bad Wurtemberg. We order Wiender schnitzel and the children eat and eat and eat. Isar has not been eating too well the last 24 hours which has made him rather cranky, but now he's all happy again. We end up driving the next 190 km to Cologne right away and with the help of our gps, we find the house of Rachel and Gerrit right away. Their door is decorated with a Swedish flag and we're so happy to arrive! The kids love running around in just one set of clothes! We get a great dinner and a well needed bath and are off to warm beds in a warm house.
